SECTION 09 // TERRITORY & PROTECTION

Teams & Land Claims

Keyfall utilizes a custom, silent anti-griefing framework called UnseenClaims. Unlike traditional claim plugins requiring immersion-breaking borders or golden shovels, UnseenClaims protects player-placed blocks implicitly, preserving natural world generation.

Team Management Commands

/team invite <player>

Invites a player to join your building and claim team. Invitations expire after 60 seconds.

/team accept [leader]

Accepts a pending team invitation.

/team kick <player>

Removes a member from your team. Only leaders can kick managers.

/team promote <player> / demote <player>

Grants or revokes Manager permissions (allowing them to invite or kick regular members).

/team claimleadership

If a team leader has been offline for 14 consecutive days, any active member can run this command to assume leadership.

Implicit Anti-Grief Protections

Silent Block Ownership

Every block placed by a team member is registered. Outsiders cannot break these blocks. Naturally generated blocks (ores, logs, stones) remain mineable by all players.

Block-Against Defense

Outsiders cannot place blocks directly against the faces of your claimed blocks, preventing griefers from boxing your doors or pouring lava on your walls.

Container & Switch Lockout

Outsiders cannot open chests, barrels, furnaces, or trigger buttons/levers within your claimed territory.

Base Buffer Zones

Outsiders are blocked from placing blocks within a 1-chunk radius (3x3 chunk grid) surrounding active team claims, preventing base encasement.

Advanced Explosion & Lava Cast Prevention

TNT Metadata Tracing

Primed TNT inherits the placing player's team metadata. TNT damages natural terrain and your own team's blocks (for auto-farms), but causes zero damage to builds owned by other active teams.

Lava Cast Heuristics

When water and lava collide, the server traces vertically. If the source exceeds 3 blocks of fall distance, cobblestone/obsidian formation is cancelled. Vanilla cobble generators work normally, but towering grief casts are impossible.

Presence & Decay Timers

  • Chunk Inactivity Decay (3 Days): If no team member modifies or enters a chunk for 3 days, protection drops.
  • Team Offline Decay (5 Days): If all team members remain offline for 5 days, claim protections decay network-wide.
  • Instant Revival: Logging in or crossing into a decayed boundary immediately revives protection in a 3-chunk radius (7x7 grid).
